Common questions
Do my guests need to download an app?
Not at all. Toast works entirely in the browser. Guests simply scan the QR code with their phone camera and they’re taken straight to your upload page. No app downloads, no account creation, no friction.
How does the QR code work?
When you create an event, Toast generates a unique QR code linked to your gallery. Print it on table cards, display it on a screen, or share it digitally. When guests scan it, their phone opens a browser page where they can instantly upload photos.
What types of events can I use Toast for?
Toast works for any event — weddings, birthdays, parties, corporate events, vacations, reunions, baby showers, and more. Anywhere a group of people gather and you want to collect everyone’s photos in one place.
Can guests see each other’s photos?
That’s entirely up to you. You can set your gallery to public so everyone can browse together, or keep it private so only you can view and manage the uploads. You have full control.
What happens after the event?
Your photos stay safe in your gallery for 12 months (30 days on the Free tier). You can download everything as a ZIP or export directly to Google Drive at any time.
Is there a limit to how many guests can upload?
Each plan has a guest limit that fits different event sizes, from an intimate 5-person gathering on the Free tier up to unlimited guests on our top plan. Every guest can upload as many photos as they like.
Can guests upload videos too?
Yes! On all paid plans, guests can upload short video clips (up to 3 minutes) alongside photos. Video is included at no extra charge.
